This course will meet every other week according to the schedule. Please attend the session for which you registered. If you need to change sections in a particular week because of urgent necessity, please notify the TA first for permission.
You will need accounts on the machines on the 12th Floor of Mudd in order to access the computers. These will be arranged for you based on the enrollment lists for the class.
Your labs will be completed in groups of two with one laboratory report turned in per group. Each lab group will receive a parts box from the laboratory manager, during the first lab session, which they should label and store in the cabinet in 1205. Parts and boards must never leave Mudd 1205 under any circumstances.
Lab reports are due by electronic submission on the date/time as indicated in the schedule. LATE LABORATORY REPORTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AND WILL RECEIVE ZERO CREDIT UNLESS PRIOR PERMISSION IS OBTAINED FROM THE INSTRUCTOR.
To submit your report electronically, please generate a single PDF file for submission. All submission will be done through Courseworks.
As a preparation for each scheduled lab section, there will be a brief video lecture on Courseworks that introduces the topics to be covered in the day's lab and to provide some additional guidance on the lab. Therefore, it is very important to watch these lectures before beginning the lab.
For certain labs, you may find it difficult to finish the lab within the allotted 2.5-hour time lab slot. To give you more lab time to complete each week's work, independent lab sections are available in the schedule. During these time slots, the lab will be open and available for you to independently complete assignments. Open lab sections are open to all sections and you are welcome to use multiple independent lab slots as necessary. The TA or instructor will generally not be present during the open lab times unless prior arrangements are made.
